The Absent-Minded Professor is a 1961 Walt Disney Pictures film based on the short story “A Situation of Gravity”, by Samuel W. Taylor. The film was reissued to theaters in 1967 and 1975, and released to video in 1981, 1986, and 1992. It was a huge success at the box-office, and has been remade twice since – once as a version for television starring Harry Anderson of TV’s Night Court as the Professor, and once more as a theatrical film entitled Flubber, with Robin Williams as the Professor. Neither remake was as successful or is as highly regarded as the original, but the Robin Williams version was still a considerable success. Both remakes were made in color.

The original 1961 film, shot in black-and-white, was one of the first Disney films to be colorized, for the 1986 video release, and along with The Shaggy Dog (1959) and Son of Flubber, is one of Disney’s few black-and-white films made after the silent film era.

88 Minutes is a 2007 American thriller film directed by Jon Avnet starring Al Pacino, Benjamin McKenzie, Alicia Witt, Leelee Sobieski, Deborah Kara Unger, Amy Brenneman and Neal McDonough. Filming began in the Vancouver area on October 8, 2005 and wrapped in December 2005. The film was released in various territories during 2007.

In May 2007, TriStar Pictures acquired all United States distribution rights of 88 Minutes; TriStar Pictures released this film in the United States theatrically on April 18, 2008.

8½ (pronounced Otto e mezzo in Italian) is a 1963 film directed by Italian director Federico Fellini. Co-scripted by Fellini, Tullio Pinelli, Ennio Flaiano, and Brunello Rondi, it stars Marcello Mastroianni as Guido Anselmi, a famous Italian film director. Shot in black-and-white by cinematographer Gianni di Venanzo, the film features a soundtrack by Nino Rota with costume and set designs by Piero Gherardi.

The movie’s title refers to 8½ being Fellini’s eighth and a half film as a director. His previous directorial work consisted of six features, two short segments, and a collaboration with another director, Alberto Lattuada, the latter three productions accounting for a “half” film each.

8½ won two Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film and Best Costume Design (black-and-white). Acknowledged as a highly influential classic, it was ranked 3rd best film of all time in a 2002 poll of film directors conducted by the British Film Institute.

8 Seconds (originally titled 8 Seconds to Glory) is a 1994 biopic about American rodeo legend and world bull riding champion Lane Frost. The film details his life from his youth learning how to ride bulls, until his death in 1989. 8 Seconds was directed by John G. Avildsen and stars Luke Perry as Lane Frost, Stephen Baldwin as real life rodeo legend Tuff Hedeman, and Red Mitchell as cowboy poet Cody Lambert. The title refers to the length of time a bull rider is required to stay on for a ride to be scored.
