This looks like a refreshing take on a romantic comedy. An oasis in a lifeless desert filled with the empty skulls of Matthew McConaughey, Katherine Heigl, and Renee Zellweger films. Then again, as I’ve said many times before, a good trailer can make a piece of shit sparkle like a diamond. That being said, Zooey Deschanel is every geek’s dream girl: she’s only slightly out of reach and loves The Smiths. Oh and the song in the trailer, other than Hall & Oates’ “You Make My Dreams,” is “Sweet Disposition” by The Temper Trap (no songs for sale on iTunes????). 500 Days of Summer is coming to a theater near you on July 17th, 2009.
