Sounds like a great bet. Are there seriously people who bet on this?

On Friday, Paddy Power had switched its celebrity betting back solely onto Hilton's likely 2007 fortunes. She merited a 5-to-4 chance of ending up in a rehabilitation clinic by the end of the year, while a return to jail was rated at 10 to 1. Appearing in an episode of Prison Break was 25 to 1, becoming Calvin Klein's new face for the perfume "Escape" 40 to 1, and releasing a cover of Elvis' Jailhouse Rock 66 to 1.

OK so rehab or jail are sure to make you money. It also seems the bookmaker recently lost money on the arrest of Al Gore III.

The former U.S. vice president and global-warming activist was rated as a 14-to-1 outsider in a list of American celebrities likely to be arrested next. On Wednesday – the day after the betting went live on Paddy Power's Web site – Gore's 24-year-old son, Al Gore III, was arrested and charged with illegally possessing marijuana and prescription drugs.

Paddy Power said it was paying out winnings to about 50 people, because it had failed to identify which Gore it meant.

I'd heard rumors from up north and decided to do a little online research on this one.  Turns out you just get a grease covered picture of pie under your pie.

Investigators said seven other teens entered the home and demanded money while seperating the two victims into different bedrooms. 

According to police reports, the mother was then raped and beaten by the 10 teens. 

Police said the victim's preteen son had a plate smashed over his head and numerous household liquids poured into his eyes. Investigators said the boy was also forced at gunpoint to participate in the sexual assault.

The police state grows every day.

In each case, innocent American citizens had the sanctity of their homes invaded by agents of the government behaving more like soldiers at war than peace officers upholding and protecting our constitutional rights.

800 times per week in this country, a SWAT team breaks open an American’s door, and invades his home. Few turn up any weapons at all, much less high-power weapons. Less than half end with felony charges for the suspects. And only a small percentage end up doing significant time in prison.

Politics are the same everywhere you go…occasionally it gets interesting.

Police searched the home of Dominique de Villepin, the former French Prime Minister, yesterday as judges appeared close to charging him with conspiring to implicate Nicolas Sarkozy, now the President, in a corruption scandal. Criminal charges are thought likely after examining judges unearthed new evidence that appears to put Mr de Villepin, 56, close to the heart of the so-called Clearstream affair.

The scandal, under investigation since 2005, involves forged bank records that suggested falsely that Mr Sarkozy and other senior figures had received big bribes in the sale of French warships to Taiwan.

You guessed it…Live Earth is about as stupid as it gets.  Al Gore promoting himself under the guise of environmentalism.  All at the expense of the environment.
