Public Enemies Movie Trailer

Tags: , ,

Michael Mann’s trailers always look awesome and his films are enjoyable. Expect blood, explosions, gunfights, car crashes, murder and tits and ass. What else could you possibly desire from a film?

Public Enemies tells the story of John Dillinger with Johnny Depp in the title role and adapted from the book, Public Enemies: America’s Greatest Crime Wave and the Birth of the FBI, 1933–34, by Bryan Burrough. The book goes over Dillinger with a fine-toothed comb, but also covers Bonnie and Clyde, Machine Gun Kelly, Ma Barker and others. Questions always linger about the accuracy of bio-pics like these, and the author, who read the film’s screenplay said, “it’s not 100 percent historically accurate. But it’s by far the closest thing to fact Hollywood has attempted, and for that I am both excited and quietly relieved.”

Public Enemies opened in theaters on July 1st, 2009. Also note that the official site, http://www.publicenemies.net/, is damn cool, offers a wealth of historical data and is very much worth checking out. Enjoy the HD trailer, images, cast and synopsis after the jump.

Funny People Trailer Song

Tags: , ,

I know there are some people out there who are dying to know what the name of the song featured in the trailer for Judd Apatow and Adam Sandler’s latest film, Funny People. Well, I can’t help you a damn bit. Just kidding… The name of the song is “Photograph” by Beatle Ringo Starr. It’s a great tune that he wrote with George Harrison and not to be confused with the equally brilliant song of the same name by Def Leppard. If you’d like to buy it on iTunes, click here. Otherwise, here’s a bit of info on the song from Wikipedia, Funny People trailer, and the lyrics to “Photograph:”

Judd Apatow’s Funny People Trailer

Tags: , ,

After the jump we have the HD Trailer (plus the normal images, synopsis, and cast) for Judd Apatow’s latest film, Funny People. People say that this is Apatow getting serious for a change, but I call bull-shit. Is death and disease any more serious than having a baby with someone you don’t know or being a virgin at age forty? I don’t think so. It’s probably got some great laughs and possibly another Ringo song (the song in the trailer is Ringo’s “Photograph” that he wrote with George Harrison - buy Photograph on iTunes). I look forward to seeing it when it’s released on July 31, 2009.

Eminem Cameo in Funny People

Tags: , ,

Not big news, as Eminem revealed last month he had shot a cameo for Funny People. MTV released a pic today his role, probably playing himself as one of George Simmon’s famous friends. From Judd Apatow’s MTV Blog:

Daybreakers Trailer

Tags: , ,

Visually stunning. Looks like a mix of Blade and The Matrix. I also see some similarities to the under-appreciated, if only slightly flawed, Terminator Salvation. And what a refreshing play on a tired genre: Vampires are the dominant race and with the humans near extinct, they face their demise with no blood to feed.

Daybreakers is the vision of German twin brothers Michael and Peter Spierig, whose previous writing and directing credits include Undead and The Big Picture. We have nearly six full months before Daybreakers hits screens for a January 8, 2010 release date and I’m sure good amount of people can’t wait. HD trailer, synopsis and cast after the jump.

Couples Retreat Trailer

Tags: , ,

Couples Retreat is the new Vince Vaughn & Jon Favreau film directed by none other than Mr. Red Rider Bee-Bee Gun himself, Peter Billingsley. Vaughn and Favreau wrote the script along with Dana Fox. It seems like a generic romantic comedy without the edge you’ve seen in the past from Vaughn, a la Four Christmases. If they truly cram the best laughs from a comedy into the trailer, I can wait to see this one in multiple, random viewings on Cinemax early next year. HD Trailer, cast, synopsis and screen shots after the jump!

Why Haven’t You Seen Hamlet 2 Yet?

Tags: , ,

We’re all to blame for not seeing this comic masterpiece. Hamlet 2 (Waiting for Guffman meets Dangerous Minds) is piss-your-pants funny and it only did $4.8 million at the box office. Enjoyed six full weeks on the big screen before they pulled the plug. I guess when you have Jesus in a wife-beater T-shirt dancing with a bunch of high school kids singing “Rock Me Sexy Jesus,” you’re bound not to connect with middle America. What the hell, do yourself a favor and enjoy it on DVD. HD Trailer, screencaps, soundtrack and Hamlet 2 quotes after the jump.

Megan Fox: 39,126,540 Searches Per Year

Tags: , ,

All the movie blogs released a few pics from the upcoming film Jennifer’s Body today. It’s Diablo Cody’s second feature as a screenwriter and her first after taking home an Oscar for Juno, but all the focus is really on Megan Fox.

There’s no question Megan Fox is incredibly attractive. Scratch that - she’s irresistibly attractive. Possibly the most attractive woman on the planet. I mean, I would club a baby seal to death in front of a drunken army of Greenpeace activists to smell her dirty panties, but I have problems. I’m definitely in the minority. Or am I? I can get to that later.

So, here’s an interesting question:

  • What does Megan Fox’s name do for a film?

I’m using Google for the search engine and getting my data from Wordtracker.

Kevin Smith Dogma Protest Interview

Tags: , ,

Everytime I think Kevin Smith is talentless hack, I have to go back to my teens when my perception of him was that of a filmmaking God. To put it simply, his writing offends people and that’s part of the charm. If Kevin Smith is a genius of any sort, there’s no better example than him protesting his own film, Dogma, with a bunch of Catholics in Eatontown, New Jersey back in 1999. Awesome, just awesome. View the vid after the jump.
